The new Intercollegiate College of Nursing Building on the WSU Spokane Riverpoint Campus is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2008 with classes beginning spring quarter (January 2009). Planning for the building began in 1992. The new building will serve as the entrance to the expanding Riverpoint Campus and the planned University District. The courtyard between the Nursing Building and the Health Sciences building will offer opportunities for students and faculty to come together from the Health Sciences to enjoy outdoor conversation, study and reflection. The greatly expanded amount of classroom space will give the Intercollegiate College of Nursing the room that is needed to educate more students and facilitate the launching of a PhD. program. It will house distance learning classrooms to support nursing’s efforts across the state, a nursing practice laboratory, technology for patient simulation, computer and multimedia laboratories and classrooms, research team space for data analysis, and offices for College administration, support staff, and faculty.
